    Introduction to the Equipment

Electric single-girder cranes, widely employed across various fields, typically incorporate an I-beam or a combination of structural steel and plate for the main girder. Since regular wear and tear can impact the crane’s lifespan, routine maintenance is the key to preserving its operational longevity.

    Essential Maintenance Steps

    Weekly Maintenance of Limit Switches

    • Ensure the limit switch operates reliably and swiftly
    • Maintain a distance greater than 50m between the hook housing and the drum housing when the hook is raised to its upper limit
    • Ensure a minimum of three safety rounds of wire rope on the drum when the hook is lowered to its lower limit
    • Confirm the buffers or stop plates at both ends of the I-beam are secure and robust
    • Verify the limit switch of the running mechanism is reliable and functional

Weekly Maintenance of Motors and Brakes

    • Ensure no abnormal noises occur when the primary lifting motor is under load
    • Confirm the axial movement of the fan brake wheel is around 2mm under normal circumstances
    • Test and adjust such that the sliding distance under load after braking is greater than or equal to 80, tested under rated load
    • Check for any abnormal noise or smell when the trolley motor is operating
    • Confirm the motor mounting bolts are not loose

    Weekly Wire Rope Maintenance

    • Ensure the wire rope is correctly wound on the drum without any signs of loosening or tangled wire
    • Check for broken wire strands, if any, and record the number. Replace the wire rope if the number of broken strands within a single rope reaches or exceeds 11
    • Monitor the wear and corrosion level on the wire rope surface. Replace the rope if the wear or corrosion exceeds 30%
    • Replace the rope if there are signs of bending or deformation
    • Confirm the wedge socket is securely installed

    Weekly Hook Maintenance

    • Check for any cracks on the hook
    • Monitor the wear level on the dangerous cross-section, it shouldn’t exceed 10% of the original size
    • Check the opening degree of the hook, the increase in size shouldn’t exceed 15% of the original size
    • Torsional deformation should not exceed 10
    • Ensure no plastic deformation occurs on the dangerous cross-section or the neck of the hook. If any of these conditions are detected, replace the hook immediately

    Weekly Electrical Equipment Maintenance

    • Check the power cords and control cables for any signs of wear
    • Ensure proper grounding of the equipment
    • Monitor the electrical contacts, ensure they are secure without any signs of looseness or detachment
    • Test all operation buttons to ensure they function correctly

    Monthly Other Maintenance

    • Conduct a visual inspection to confirm there are no missing shells, covers, or other parts
    • Check for any abnormal sounds or smells during operation
    • Regularly clean the equipment and inspect and tighten all connection points, bolts, and nuts

Maintenance of an electric single-girder crane is vital for extending its service life. However, it’s not the only factor at play – the quality of the crane is equally paramount. That’s why choosing a reputable, top-tier, and high-quality Single crane manufacturer is crucial as they ensure the quality and longevity of the equipment.
